Anna moved to the United States in 2003 and earned her BA in Early Childhood Education and Human Development Family Science (HDFS) in Ohio State University. In 2007 she earned her MA degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education from New York University. Prior to completing her MA degree in New York, Anna spent 18 months teaching in New York public schools. She also spent time volunteering at the New York Foundling which provides child welfare, juvenile justice, education, services for single mothers and support for young people aging out of foster care. She also has experience in individual counselling especially with young children in the 5 to 8 year old range. Anna returned to Korea in 2010 and continued to expand her career as a teacher in private preschools for over 4 years. She has taught children from ages 3 to 7 and constantly strives to expand her own knowledge and skills to better nurture and educate children in the classroom. In her spare time Anna enjoys travelling and experiencing different countries and cultures.
BA (Hankuk University of Foreign Studies)
Charlotte was born in Korea but spent a lot of her early childhood in England. Returning to Seoul for her tertiary education, she graduated from the Hankuk University of Foreign Studies with a degree in English and foreign languages. During her university years she taught English to high school and university students. She also has been involved in a number of language related roles, working as an interpreter for a variety of organizations, one of which was as a member of the committee for the Seoul Olympics. After a few years of teaching experience in English kindergartens, she then completed YL TESOL course in EWHA Woman’s University. She has worked as a teacher in both the public and private sectors with kindergarten and primary age children. She is specialised in early childhood education and teaching English as a second language for various age groups. Since arriving in EtonHouse Prep, Charlotte has enjoyed working with the boys and girls in Year 2 and especially in developing their researching and critical thinking skills through teaching Topic. She is very active in the school’s after school clubs, offering classes in another area of passion for her, craft making. In her leisure time, Charlotte enjoys various sports such as tennis and snowboarding. Her favorite place to travel to is Europe. She also likes reading and watching movies.

Debbie was born in Korea but has lived overseas since the age of five. Her experience of living abroad has taught her to be flexible, more open-minded, and to enjoy exploring the diverse aspects of life. She came back to Korea to attend university. Prior to joining EtonHouse Prep, Debbie supported the US Forces Korea Public Affairs Office (USFK) stationed in Yongsan. She worked as a journalist for the weekly newspaper and also as a supervisor, facilitating major international events hosted by the USFK. Debbie has also participated in numerous educational programmes such as English Camps which are suitable for young children between the ages of eight to thirteen. Outside of school, she enjoys travelling, photography, and listening to music.

Eric grew up in Korea until he reached the age of 14, when he moved to Singapore to complete his secondary education. To begin work in the education field he started a two-year childcare and education course at South Thames College in London as a starting point to work with children. He then decided to continue his study by undertaking a degree course in education and childhood. After receiving a BA (Hons) in Childhood, Education and Society, he served in the Republic of Korea Army for two years as part of his mandatory national service. Eric joined EtonHouse Prep in August 2016, and this is his first year of full-time teaching. In his personal time Eric is interested in sports and music, and he also likes watching films.
BA in Primary Education (QTS) (University of Roehampton, London)
Esther moved from Korea to England with her family 15 years ago. She completed her Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education specialising in Music at the University of Roehampton in London and graduated in 2014. Esther taught children from 5-12 years old. After graduating, she taught in a Catholic primary school in Central London for two years in a Year 1 class. This has provided her with knowledge and understanding of working with children from different social, religious and cultural backgrounds. Esther believes that children should have autonomy over learning to help them become life-long learners. Esther enjoys playing the piano and listening to music and anticipates incorporating music in her teaching and in her class.
BA Early Childhood Education (Kyung Won College, South Korea)
Julie has studied Early Childhood Education in Korea at Kyung Won College. After completing her degree she attended graduate school qualifying in Infancy/Toddler Education as well as Early Years. She then wanted to further her English teaching skills, so went abroad to study English in Toronto, Canada. She has more than 10 years experience teaching in Seoul. Previous to her Pre-Nursery teaching position at EtonHouse Prep, she spent seven years as a teacher at British International Kindergarten (BIK) Hannam. Julie believes personal and professional development should be continually sought after, in order to become a teacher who sincerely cares for and loves children and effectively guides them in the right direction.

Kira is originally from South Africa, but has been residing as a teacher abroad for over five years. She initially started her teaching journey just after graduating in 2012. Kira volunteered in schools around Africa during her studies and this is what initially sparked her interest to go forth and explore teaching full time. She moved to South Korea in 2012 after completing her TEFL and taught for a year. Kira has also taught in Bangkok, Thailand for just over a year at an international school. Kira worked at a Canadian International School during 2015-2016 and joined Eton House Prep in August 2016. She is very excited to be a part of the EtonHouse Prep family.

Lisa was educated from upper primary through to university in New Zealand and Australia and recently returned to Korea. Adopting and understanding artistic skills has been a life-long practice for Lisa and her artistic abilities have continuously progressed through exploration in the mediums of art and art history. She has held a number of solo and group exhibitions and continuously develops her works. She considers herself to be a facilitator who is able to identify individual learning needs whilst setting whole class achievement goals by offering dynamic, hands-on practical tasks in order to provide the most productive teaching strategies. She applies a broad range of mediums with practical art activities to create a multi-dimensional curriculum that offers an inclusive and engaged learning environment. Lisa’s expert area is the improvement and elevation of fine art skills for Key Stage 2. Further to this she has designed a number of interventions during her teaching experiences. These interventions were focused on catering to individual’s learning needs within curriculum standards in order to scaffold and consolidate to a higher degree of understanding in the areas of numeracy, literacy and personalised learning. One of her expert areas is to implement a cross-curricular inquiry unit which guided pupils on how to gain 21st century competencies such as problem-solving skills, critical thinking, collaboration, creativity, communication skills and the use of technology from a variety of contexts.
Yoo Jin Kim

Yoo Jin spent her middle school and high school life in SCECGS Redlands, Sydney. Her school’s IB curriculum system, combined with her teachers’ thoughtful care influenced her to become a teacher. She obtained an IB diploma and IB Bilingual diploma in Mandarin, English and Korean. Yoo Jin volunteered as an ESL teacher during university as part of a UNICEF volunteer team. When she created activities for ESL classes, her students showed interest to learn more, so she felt very rewarded. She recognised her teaching ability and passion for teaching. Right after she graduated university she completed TESOL certificate in Sookmyung Women’s university and joined Etonhouse Prep. In her spare time, she enjoys travelling with family and going to art galleries.

Young-Shin has been in the Early Childhood Education Field for more than 5 years. She studied Early Childhood Education and Adolescence Science in Korea and is licensed as an Early Childhood and Infant/Toddler Educator in Canada. She has worked as a teacher both in Korea and Canada. She was a teacher at a public elementary school for children with special needs in Korea and taught Year 1 to Year 3 children with learning disabilities. It was a great opportunity to work with the parents and the children in a very different learning environment. While in Canada, she taught children from ages 3 to 6 in a classroom of varying levels and abilities. She believes the greatest joy in working with children is being able to inspire them and see them grow. One of her favourite things to do in her spare time is yoga, which she has been leading for our EtonHouse students. She also enjoys playing other sports, especially squash.

George Jo is an experienced singer, choir conductor, music educator, and music entrepreneur. In his career as a music educator, Mr Jo has dedicated himself to passing down his passion for music. He and his wife opened an academy of music in Brooklyn, NY. Through their academy, Mr Jo hoped not only to expand the musical education of his students and his own experiences instructing, but also to continue to grow in order to reach future generations of talented youth. Mr Jo was also one of the voice faculty members at the New York Conservatory in Long Island in 2011. He has also served as a choir conductor of the Salvation Army in Youngdong-po in South Korea to direct its current choir members.

Ivy was born in the Republic of China (Taiwan), and is a native speaker of Mandarin. She is a certified Mandarin teacher of Teaching Chinese as Second/Foreign Language from Ministry of Education in Taiwan. After obtaining her Bachelor’s Degree in Foreign Language and Applied Linguistics at Yuan-Ze University, she taught Mandarin across various school settings in Seoul, including Seoul Chinese Primary School, teaching Chinese writing and conversation, and also at Dulwich College Seoul to pupils from early years to secondary ages. Her experience as a teacher of students from a diverse range of age levels, abilities, and cultural and national backgrounds has fostered and developed her ability to work successfully in a wide variety of environments.

Sunhwa was born in South Korea and moved to China when she was 20. She graduated from Chinese Language and Literature at Dong-Bei Normal University in 2007. After graduation, she worked at a university in Seoul as an administrative staff member at their International Office for 2 years, mainly assisting the students from China. Prior to joining EtonHouse Prep, Sunhwa went abroad to study English in Sydney, Australia as she wanted to further her English skill. Living in Australia, she attended a local college (Ultimo TAFE) for over 2 years, during which time she experienced many diverse cultures. Outside of school, Sunhwa loves spending time with her friends and family. She enjoys travelling and has visited many overseas countries.
